School Lunch

School Lunch

In recent months, as First Lady Michelle Obama leads her campaign to end childhood obesity, American school lunch programs have come under some scrutiny. Pizza for breakfast? That sounds good to some kids, but doesn’t do much to encourage healthy eating habits. Many school cafeteria foods are processed and lack the nutritional value that growing kids need. Maybe America needs to take some clues from the French where local ingredients, five-course menus and (what many consider) gourmet meals are the norm.
